Production coordination
Working as a subcontractor for the Nova Scotia Agricultural College, Steve Harder was the production coordinator in 2003 for study guides in English and French on Nutrient Management Planning in Atlantic Canada.Duties included obtaining necessary permission approvals, ensuring a steady flow of material to the graphic designer and printer, and working closely with the project manager, editor and writers. For the French translation, a special table was devised for diagrams and charts to make the translation as easy as possible. Working on a tight production schedule, quality study guides in English and French were delivered on time and on budget. Report coordination
On another subcontracting job for the NSAC, Steve coordinated the
research, writing, editing and production of an annual report for the Centre for Continuing and Distance Education. This included a review
and reorganization of statistics, use of graphs and tables to highlight
achievements and an assessment of major projects and programs.
Financial statements were presented and explained. The report went beyond merely reporting statistics and events—their significance was analyzed and interpreted. “Top-rate work on both projects. Deadlines were met, participants’ ideas were considered and developed, and the focus remained firmly on producing quality results.” —Sarah Macdonald, Manager of Continuing Education Nova Scotia Agricultural College |
